The hsadmin package is a set of open source programs
|
|
for the administration of internet servers developed
|
|
originally by [https://www.hostsharing.net Hostsharing].
|
|
|
|
The system is based on few simple concepts that translators
|
|
need to know.
|
|
|
|
;customer: A company or person ownning any number of packages.
|
|
;hostmaster: An administrator having root rights on all servers.
|
|
;package: Basic container for domains and users that a customer can have. A package is part of a hive.
|
|
;hive: A group of packages. They can be seen as running in a virtual machine. Even though several hives can be sharing a prysical server, for practical reasons, a hive can be seen as a server.
|
|
;user: A unix user. There are users of various kinds having different rights. In the hsadmin context, the rights determine what one can do or access once their identity has been established, e.g. by entering a password.
|
|
;domain: A domain in the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/domain_name_system domain name system].
|
|
;subdomain: Same as usual. There is no real difference between domains and subdomains in most respects, but subdomains can have special relations to their domains in some instances.
